Caterpillar 302.7 CR, Cat 303 CR and Cat 303.5 CR mini excavators are built on the company's next-generation platform and can replace existing models 302.7D, 303E and 303.5E2.

The working weight is in the range of 2.7 to 3.5 tons, and the mini excavator is powered by a 24.7 horsepower engine. The digging depth ranges from 96.5 inches to 110.6 inches.

Routine maintenance and inspection can be carried out from the ground through the side door, and the inclined cab design provides access to the maintenance components. Compared with the previous Cat mini excavator model, the maintenance interval has been increased.

Hydraulic system upgrades increase boost performance and cycle time, and customizable operator settings increase efficiency.

Cat excavators have a compact turning radius. The fixed chassis widths of Cat 302.7 CR, Cat 303 CR, and Cat 303.5 CR are 59.1, 61.0, and 70.1 inches, respectively. The Cat 302.7 CR has an optional extendable landing gear that reduces the width to 53.3 inches and then extends it to 70.1 inches.

Interchangeable weight packages provide a balance between low ground pressure and improved performance. The "light" counterweight option adds 221 pounds to the weight of the machine; "extra" adds 551 pounds.

All three Cat mini excavators are available in standard and long stick configurations. The standard digging depth range is 96.5 to 110.6 inches, and the long stick configuration allows the machine to dig to a depth of 104.3 to 122.4 inches.

The load-sensing hydraulic system with variable displacement pump can provide oil flow up to 26 gpm. The combination of high main relief pressure and flow rate produces hydraulic capacity for high digging and lifting forces and more effective use of a range of accessories. The standard auxiliary system is equipped with a quick-disconnect pipeline, providing one-way, two-way or continuous flow options.

The Cat stick steering system simplifies machine control, allowing the operator to switch from traditional lever/pedal steering control to effort-saving joystick operation at the push of a button. With a travel speed of 2.8 mph, standard cruise control minimizes operator interaction when traveling long distances between work locations.
